Mullica Hill, a historic village in Harrison Township, Gloucester County, New Jersey, dates back to the 17th century. It is listed on both the National Register of Historic Places and the New Jersey State Register of Historic Places.
Today, Mullica Hill features a charming Main Street with boutique shops, antiques, jewelry, furniture, fine art, crafts, restaurants, and coffee houses.
Originally a Quaker settlement, the village was established by English and Irish Quakers who built plantations along Raccoon Creek.
The southern bank was known as Spicerville, named after landowner Jacob Spicer, while the northern bank retained the name Mullica Hill, honoring Finnish settlers Eric, John, Olag, and William Mullica, who began purchasing land in 1704. Two of their original homes still stand on North Main Street near the creek.
