Restaurant Review

Jack Baker's Lobster Shanty, one of Jack Baker's six seafood restaurants in NJ, is located next door to another of his restaurants, the Wharfside.

The Lobster Shanty is popular with tourists looking for a Jersey Shore sea food dining experience with scenic water front views.

Located dock side on the Manasquan Inlet, if you are close enough to get a window seating during the dinner hours, you can watch fishing boats returning from the ocean. While tables close to the windows cannot be guaranteed, early reservations tend to secure seats near the water front.

The decor at Jack Baker's Lobster Shanty is "Old World Formal" with dated with carpeted flooring and white table linens. The highlight is the large glass windows providing diners with awesome, scenic views of the waterfront ---- not at all like a shanty.

The locally caught fresh seafood and the waterfront views are the reason you come to the Lobster Shanty. However, expect traditional food preparation with little creativity.

Jack Baker's Lobster Shanty also serves a good, reasonably priced brunch on Sunday's.

They don't reservations. Expect a long wait during the summer months; you can wait at the bar until called.

Jack Baker's Lobster Shanty also has 6 banquet rooms to accommodate 40 to 220 people for private parties

They are open year round with seasonal hours
