Recommended For:  Diners who enjoy affordably priced grilled steaks, burgers and comfort food in an energetic, casual setting.

Not Recommended For:  Diners who prefer more fine dining amenities with old world charm and food served in huge portions.

Recommended dishes:  When available, The Longhorn, a 20 oz. USDA Choice porterhouse with a New York strip and a large filet in one thick, tender cut, char grilled over an open flame; or the Eye of Prime Rib, a choice of 12 oz. or 16 oz. of slow-roasted USDA Choice, fully-trimmed prime rib served one of three ways: Classic with au jus on the side, topped with red wine mushroom Bordelaise sauce or Spicy Western-Style char grilled over an open flame.

The Longhorn Steakhouse chain of restaurants with multiple locations in New Jersey is a cut above many of the grilled steakhouse chain restaurants.

While Longhorn Steakhouse is not to be compared with the top-end fine dining steakhouses, it is a good place to go for a casual night out with the family or a group of friends who enjoy good, fresh food at a very reasonable price.

The atmosphere at this restaurant is attractive with a rustic western motif. The walls are done up in earth-tone colors and stone, with western paintings, copper, cowboy knickknacks, and soft lighting. The bar is also set in an attractive stone setting with a few large display TVs for the sports-minded.

Longhorn Steakhouse is very kid-friendly where the kids are given crayons and coloring sheets. They have a kids' menu with good inexpensive choices.

The service is excellent: Well trained, very friendly and attentive.

They serve a good variety of alcoholic drinks, and their margaritas are popular.
