The Broadmoor Restaurant stands out amongst the best of many Lambertville European BYOB restaurants with it's well executed menu served in an upscale, yet casual, charming, and inviting setting.

The creation and opening of Broadmoor was driven by Donna Painter restauranteur who worked with Chef Alex Cormier at many of Philadelphia's acclaimed restaurants. She succeeded in luring Alex Cormier back onto the culinary scene after having decided he was done with the restaurant business, despite a successful 13 year stint operating Rick’s, a local favorite Italian restaurant in Lambertville.

The new Broadmoor restaurant (not to be confused with the Old Broadmoor housed at the same location from the 1960s to the '80s) is co-owned and operated by Chef Alex Cormier, and Donna Painter, both acclaimed and seasoned restaurant professionals.

Located in a post-Victorian building, built in 1905, that previously housed an antique store, has been converted and restored by former Senator Robert Torricelli to its current Art Deco style with lots of glass and an open kitchen.

Donna Painter’s artistic influence makes its presence felt in the small 12-table dining room with mid-century industrial, where rustic meets contemporary to create an upscale, yet gracious, warm, and casual setting

The focal point is the modest open Kitchen in the back right corner. High ceilings set off the tone of rustic meets contemporary with walls done up in shades of grey, hanging globe lanterns repurposed from Parisian streetlamps, and walls adorned with attractive local art. Exposed wood tables are set with china and flatware from the former Waldorf Astoria hotel.

However, poor acoustics are likely to put a damper on quiet, intimate conversation.

Chef Cormier works his culinary art in the kitchen serving a well-executed and artfully presented menu of American, modern Italian, French, and Russian dishes that he learned by watching his Russian-born mother prepare in the family kitchen. The menu features comfort food, pasta, and nightly specials carried over from his time at Rick's.

Most of the pasta is homemade, augmented by sourcing additional varieties from LoRe home-made pasta in Hopewell Borough.

Broadmoor Restaurant is open for dinner five days/week. Closed Monday & Tuesday.
