Originally a cozy morning coffee house, Black Eyed Susans has evolved into one of Long Beach Island’s finest bistro-style restaurants, now offering an exceptional dinner menu alongside its welcoming ambiance.

Nestled near Barnegat Bay, the restaurant features a simple yet elegant décor. Large front windows provide stunning sunset views during dinner hours, while two distinct dining areas showcase striking black-and-white photography of beach and dining scenes.

The warmly lit space, complete with blonde wood floors, white-linen tables, and a cozy fireplace, enhances the intimate yet casual atmosphere. In the warmer months, guests can also enjoy al fresco dining on the patio, music and fire pits. .

Owned and operated by Chef Christopher Sanchez and Manager/Chef Ashley Pellegrino, both graduates of the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), Black Eyed Susans delivers a thoughtfully curated seasonal menu. Their culinary expertise, honed through experiences in Africa, Italy, Spain, and the Jersey Shore’s Yellow Fin in Surf City, is reflected in every dish.

The menu emphasizes locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, supplemented by organically raised meats, dairy, eggs, fruits, and vegetables. Diners can enjoy a variety of gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options, as well as an impressive raw bar featuring top-quality East Coast seafood.

The youthful, friendly, and well-trained waitstaff adds to the restaurant’s inviting atmosphere. While limited free parking is available, street parking accommodates overflow during peak hours.

Reservations are highly recommended, especially on busy summer weekends. Black Eyed Susans operates seasonally, remaining open seven days a week during the summer months.
