Battello is an extraordinary chef-inspired casual dining restaurant set on a Jersey City pier with an awesome view of the lower Manhattan skyline.
Co- owned and operated by managing partner Cory Checket and Executive Chef Ryan DePersio.
Corey Checket, a certified sommelier, Cory oversees the beverage program.
Chef DePersio received his formal culinary training at NY Restaurant School and honed his skills at many famed restaurants including the four-star restaurant, Jean Georges. in NYC, The famed Enoteca Pinchiorri in Florence, Italy. Ryan has also been featured on the Today Show, Food Network and Tony Tantillo's. Ryan DePersio also operates Fascino's restaurant in Montclair, NICO Kitchen + Bar in Newark, and the Kitchen Step, in Jersey City.
Chef DePersio's oversees a well-executed seasonally changing new American menu with Italian influences. The menu features many seafood and pasta dishes prepared with fresh ingredients. His "Italian without borders" philosophy is exemplified in the variety of fresh homemade pasta dishes.
The attractive decor is done up with high exposed ceilings, wooden beams, spacious open elegant areas with walls of glass jars separating several dining areas; including two bars, and a lounge that is equipped for live entertainment.
During the warmer months there is outside dining on the patio, and one of the dining rooms is equipped with huge doors that open providing diners with a stunning sunset view of the lower Manhattan skyline.
Battello can accommodate private social gatherings large and small. For large gatherings, the main dining room with floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides, can open up during the warmer months with a dockside view on the NYC skyline. For smaller gatherings the Wine Cellar a private, enclosed space that can accommodate up to 16 guests
Battello is open seven days/week, for Lunch and Dinner and for Brunch on Saturday & Sunday
