Tacconelli's Pizzeria in Maple Shade, located across from the Moorestown Mall, is one of South Jersey’s top destinations for thin-crust pizza.
A spin-off of the legendary Tacconelli’s in Philadelphia, this family-owned gem is run by father-and-son duo Vince and Vince Tacconelli. Vince Jr., a graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, brings a refined touch to the menu—an uncommon distinction for a traditional Italian eatery.
While Tacconelli’s is best known for its signature pizzas, the menu also features a carefully curated selection of salads, sandwiches, house-made pastas, entrées, and desserts. The pizza dough recipe remains true to the original, passed down through generations from great-great-grandpa Tacconelli. However, the fresh pasta dishes are the creative work of CIA-trained Vince Jr.
That said, as good as the pasta may be, the real reason to visit is the pizza. Baked in a wood-fired oven, Tacconelli’s pies boast an ultra-thin crust that is simultaneously chewy, crunchy, and irresistibly flavorful.
The restaurant’s interior is spacious, with bold red walls, multiple seating areas, and cozy patterned banquettes. It’s a popular spot, so expect long waits on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Tacconelli’s is open seven days a week for dinner.
