Popular July 2011 Events and Things To Do

July is the peak of the summer season in New Jersey and it starts off with a "Bang" as the first weekend of the month is Independence Day weekend with fireworks displays and July 4th celebrations dominating the weekend activities.

July is also the most popular month along the Jersey shore with day trippers and vacationers heading for the beaches, boardwalk amusement parks, and restaurants to take in the summer's finest activities.

Here is a capsule of some of the popular events that are happening in New Jersey during the month of July..


Macy's 4th of July Fireworks
July 4, 2011 - 9:20 pm
The nation's largest 4th of July fireworks display. Best viewing from Hoboken and Weehawken, with decent views from Jersey City & North Bergen. The event calls for a 26-minute barrage of 40,000 firework shells fired from six barges in the Hudson River, between 24th Street and 50th Street on the West Side of NYC.


Atlantic City - Two Fireworks Displays In One Evening
The second largest fireworks display along the east coast.
Enjoy two world-class fireworks shows within minutes of each other. The fireworks can viewed anywhere along the Atlantic City beach or Boardwalk, with best views closer to the locations of the displays. The fireworks shows will be synchronized to music broadcast over 95.1 WAYV FM radio, with casinos tuning their audio systems to the broadcast.
July 4, 2011 - 9:20 PM This display put on by famed fireworks producer Grucci will take place over Marina District, kicking off the nearly hour-long production
July 4, 2011 - 9:45 PM. The second display will take place off the ocean near the Atlantic City Boardwalk.

St. Ann's Festival

Enjoy Italian food like St Ann's famous zeppole, music, rides, crafts, raffles, and games. Nightly entertainment on 2 stages. Featuring: Opera performer Cristina Fontanelli on Thursday night, Ray Rodriguez y Swing Sabroso on Latin Night Friday; Ryan Pelton Elvis impersonator on Saturday night; Carol Douglas "D and the Trammps on Disco Night Sunday; The Nerds on Monday night; and The Bronx Wanderers on Tuesday night. Saturday, the feast day, the festival will open at 10 a.m. with a Mass, and then a 600-pound statue of St. Ann will be carried through the streets of Hoboken.
